Engineering Nickel
(Sulfamate Nickel)

Sulfamate nickel is a low stress electrodeposited material used for heavy build up.

Applications
Repair of worn parts or pieces out of dimension
Special engineering applications
Heavy build up for mold repair, shafts, shut-offs, etc.
Corrosion protection

Thickness
The thickness range from 0.001 to 0.060 inch per surface.

Hardness
The normal hardness is Rc 20-30. After pieces have been machined into final dimension, Poly-Ond or Electoless Nickel can be applied to give release, lubricity, or wear over the entire sulfamate nickel plated area.

Coating Uniformity
Being electroplated, sulfamate nickel is not uniform and must be machined or ground into final dimension.

Appearance
There is a matte appearance to these heavy deposits but it can be polished to a mirror finish.

Stripping
Sulfamate nickel can be chemically stripped from the basis material.

Cleaning
The plated surface can be mechanically cleaned by polishing, scotchbrite pad, and brass or a stainless steel brush. It can also be chemically cleaned by most types of solvents and alkaline materials.
